Needless to say....

Okay, so starting on Labor Day I'm going to do a body composition challenge online on a fitness forum I post on, and one thing we have to do is post photos. I decided that last thing I want to do is wear my ancient old swimsuit, so heck...why not sew a new one. Hey, while I'm at it, make it out of stretchy velvety stuff, stick on some crystals and just make a posing suit for the fun of it.

I'm not posting the photo of the pattern, here's a link:

As I started to write in the title, needless to say... my more mature bustline doesn't look so dandy in a triangle slide bikini top.

I'll have to figure out something else.

Or wear the old one.

Bought new patterns

I did some online fabric shopping on Friday night as I don't have a stash, but had to go to JoAnn's on Saturday to pick up some new patterns. The Simplicities were on sale.

I'm a bit frustrated though on the sizing situation. Most their patterns go up to a size 14, then the next higher range starts at a 16.

Why oh why don't they just do an overlap at that point? I'm at the 14 for the upper body, but my lower body (waist) is still at a 20, and hips are at a 16 (I think.)

I took the chance and bought the smaller sizes as it's harder to fit the bust and all.

I also got some fabric to make a knit top and another skirt. I need to get on that.

Finally did a Nail of the Day

I chopped my nails off this summer when I was doing the chairs, not that they ever got very long though. It's so neat that now I can cut/file them and they grow back, talk about a first for me. My nails have finally gotten to a place in my life where they aren't embarrassing, even when short. I've kept polish on them, but haven't been a spastic about things. But now that Fall is just around the corner and dark polishes, it's time for a bit more length and great colors.

I bought a new polish the other day, Bullish on OPI from their new Espana collection. Lots of pretty colors, but all dark ones, and I have lots of similar colors. I had a free coupon so I had to buy something.

And I LOVE this color on me. It's a dark tomato red and perfect for my coloring.

The picture isn't too clear as my daughter has my camera and this one doesn't have a macro setting

And I also finished a wrap skirt recently and it was so much fun to sew for myself again.

What to sew

???

I don't have a clue what to sew. I really want to. I want to lock myself away in my sewing room (though it's not all put back together yet) and sew and watch Netflix.

It's a dilemma though I shouldn't complain. I want to sew but I don't want to sew and then grow out of it (or shrink out of I should say.) Ugh, ugh, ugh.

I do have two skirts that need elastic put into the waistband, and I still have that Burda WOF top that I need to do elastic in, but I need a cami to wear under it, and I can't just buy one as I hate bra straps showing, and I don't know if I can sew one...but I could try.

Hmmmm....I wonder if I have any fabric that might match.

I really don't know what to do about the bra strap situation though.

So now I'm back to not knowing what to sew.

Or I can go on to chair number two (or clean my deak, or clean the house, or do laundry, etc.)

Now I'm really bothered.

One chair done

I finally got one chair done (eek, yet another.)

It's not perfect, so far from it. It was harder than I expected. I did reupholster a sofa once and it had straighter "curves."

But my girls love it and they are happy.

And here is what it looked like before.

Moving the sewing room....again

Well, my daughter's been out of her room now for a week, and I've decided it's time to move back up there, where there is an AC. The sunroom situation never really worked out. It was just too hot to work out there, and I really didn't get much done.

I have to focus and get the darn chairs done too.

So that's today's plan, cleaning and moving and getting organized again.

Hopefully I'll be able to start some garment sewing really soon. I am in desperate need of clothes, but not very motivated to sew. Reason being I've lost now over 21 lbs, but I still have a good 25 to go. So it's kind of depressing to think what I sew now won't fit.

But I'm obviously happy with the weight loss, no doubt about that. It's been about 9 weeks now and I'm working my butt off (literally) to do this right. And also no dragging my tail about it, I want it gone and I want it gone as quickly as possible, in a healthy manner naturally.

Once I hit Labor Day it will have been a full 12 weeks of dieting and I will take a 2 week break to let my body settle a bit, then I will be right back at it, and hopefully done within the next 12 week time frame, and ready to sew up (and shop shop shop) for some hot new outfits.

Did get myself some nice new boots yesterday for dancing. They look kinda sorta like this pair (I think this is the man's version to be honest.)

Summer will soon end

The heat may stay with us for awhile yet, but the kids have headed out. Got two kids moved this past weekend (4 are out) and one still is here.

I've been trying to work on reupholstering some chairs but I'm not having fun. Here's a photo of one of the chairs.

I haven't stapled on the fabric there, so ignore the bunchy spots.

That's Lucius, btw...cats know all the best sitting spots.
